Celco Plant

The Celco Plant is located on Route 460 in Narrows, Virginia along the scenic New River. It began operations on Christmas Day, 1939. Products made at the Celco Plant include cellulose acetate flake and tow.

Driving Directions

From Charlotte, North Carolina

1. Take I-77 North to Exit 32 which is I-81 North (toward Roanoke).
2. Travel north on I-81 until Exit 98.
3. At Exit 98, take Highway 100 North approximately 25 miles to Pearisburg, VA where the road will become 460 West.
4. Travel 460 West into Narrows, VA.
5. Cross the New River.
6. Plant will be on your left; however, plant entrance will be on your right.

From Bristol, Tennessee

1. Travel north on I-81 until Exit 98.
2. At Exit 98, take Highway 100 North approximately 25 miles to Pearisburg, VA where the road will become 460 West.
3. Travel 460 West into Narrows, VA.
4. Cross the New River.
5. Plant will be on your left; however, plant entrance will be on your right.

From Roanoke, Virginia

1. Take I-81 South until Exit 118.
2. At Exit 118 (Christiansburg), take US 460 West.
3. Continue on US 460 West for about 40 miles passing through Blacksburg, Pembroke, Pearisburg, and into Narrows.
4. Cross the New River.
5. Plant will be on your left; however, plant entrance will be on your your right.

From Charleston, West Virginia

1. Take I-77 South until Exit 9.
2. At Exit 9 (Princeton), take US 460 East toward Pearisburg.
3. Travel for about 18 miles.
4. Look for plant on your right; however, plant entrance will be on your left.
