Why do garments of acetate fabrics feel comfortable to wear?
Not only does acetate fiber feel soft against the skin, its amorphous open-pore structure allows moisture to be transported away from the body, making the wearer feel cooler and more comfortable. Also, fabrics of acetate fiber do not conduct electricity, so there’s no annoying static cling.

In what kind of fabrics will I find acetate filament fibers?
You’ll find acetate filament in a very broad and luxurious range of woven and knit fashion fabrics such as crepes, satins, taffetas, jacquards, jerseys, and raschels, plus twills and taffetas for apparel linings.

How are acetate fabrics dyed?
Acetate fabrics are dyed at a temperature of 80-95 degrees C under atmospheric pressure using low energy disperse dyes and the scour or dyebath must have a pH of 10 or less.

Why are garments made with acetate linings more comfortable to wear than garments made with most other fibers?
One of the reasons that better men’s and women’s apparel manufacturers choose acetate linings is that they “breathe” and move moisture away from the wearer. This offers cooler comfort. Other pluses are their beautiful colors, soft hand and compatible drape without static cling.

Will acetate filament yarn run efficiently on modern textile processing equipment?
Yes. The compaction, finish, and physical properties of Celanese acetate yarns have been specifically engineered so that they can be processed on modern textile weaving and knitting machines at commercial speeds.
